FUNDERS IN 2009 and 2010
We are extremely grateful to all of our donors both here and abroad. Their support has made it possible for UVHAA to continue providing services in accordance with our Mission statement.
The Home Based Care programme has been funded by the following organisations:
- R250,000 from joint OXFAM HIV and AIDS programme (JOHAP) for the Dumisa area
- R347,000 from the Stephen Lewis Foundation for Mkhunya and Dududu areas
- R125,000 from the DG Murray Trust for Mbiyane and Braemer areas
- R311,000 from the SAGA Charitable Trust UK for Umdoni North
- R250,000 from the Department of Health for administration and care workers
SANTA Scottburgh have continued to support the programme with training and food parcels.
Broadreach Healthcare have supported Awareness Days.
The Stephen Lewis Foundation has funded the Capacity Building Programme for Care Workers with R84,750. They are also funding a new programme for Caring for Care Workers and have pledged R735,000 for this project.
The Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) programme has been funded by the following organisations:
- R35,400 from SAPPI Saiccor
- R20,000 from Vodacom
- R14,600 from OPSEU
- R6,170 from Rotary Scottburgh
- We acknowledge the very many anonymous donations from many individuals and organisations
The Mirriam Dean Trust has given R36,577 towards the administration of the Amandawe Community Care Centre. Basingstoke and Downham Market Rotary clubs in the UK have supported the Centre with funds for the renovations of the centre.
Funding has come from the following organisations for the welfare of the children:
- Blue Marlin Hotel and their guests
- The Anglican Church of Basle
- St. Paul's Anglican Church of Scottburgh
- Atlantic Philanthropy Organisation
The Art and Craft projects received R6,500 from PB Seipp and payments from the Point of Art Gallery for work completed.
We would like to thank Robyn Mann and Peter Carr for regular payments from England and Tom Potter who continues to work as a voluntary fund raiser for UVHAA.

Our thanks to Mrs. Moosa for weekly donations of vegetables and the Blue Marlin hotel for food parcels.

Thanks to the many people who keep us supplied with blankets, knitted clothes and second hand clothes. We also acknowledge the regular and dedicated food packers and the HBC packers.
